no diet day

May 6th is the best day ever !!!   Because diets just don’t work.  They just don’t !

I’m a huge believer in a healthy lifestyle, a balanced diet and regular exercise. If you want to get to a healthy weight, it’s the best way to go. I’ll admit, it is not the quickest, but it’s the healthiest.

Nine months ago I weighed over 200 lbs. I adopted a healthy lifestyle after meeting with a nutritionist and a group of random people with similar food related problems. We met once a week for 12 weeks and after many weeks of struggling and digging into the depths of my eating problems… I finally figured it out.

  • stop eating when I feel full / don’t eat when you are not hungry
  • never deprive myself of what I crave
  • eat the foods I love
  • eat more vegetables
  • make sure I get protein at each meal
  • get regular exercise
  • find time for myself

But for me, the first bullet point is the most important!! How many times do we just keep on eating, one cookie after the other or eating absentmindedly in front of the television? I’ve lost over 30 lbs so far. It’s not been easy, far from it. But the rewards are well worth it. I have more energy, I sleep much better, I fit better into my clothes and just feel better in general.

How will you celebrate No Diet Day ?? Will you indulge in your favorite chocolate bar, enjoy a frozen desert, stop by your favorite restaurant and order something you’ve been craving ?

Let’s get lost in the indulgence, whatever it may be !!  Seriously, it’s ok.
